Tips voor een stijlvolle ingerichte Kast

Tips for a stylishly furnished closet

Last week we received a photo from a customer of a beautiful vintage cabinet with the following question:

"I have a vintage cupboard with a few vintage vases and pots and personal items, but I can't seem to get it to look nice. It quickly becomes cluttered and looks messy. Could you give me some advice on some of your products?"

Of course we can, we love doing this. We looked at the photo carefully, asked for the measurements and got to work to create a coherent and harmonious whole of the cabinet. In this blog we will take you through our steps. Are you too curious? Then scroll down for the photos and the shopping list.

Tips for Organizing Your Closet

Nowadays, we are fortunately seeing more and more bookcases in the living room, but we also want them to look nice. Not only books, but also precious objects deserve a place. We have the following tips that you might also find useful.

1. Alternate with Objects at Different Heights

Because it is an open cabinet, there is a big chance that it will quickly look messy. What we also often see is that items of approximately the same height are in the cabinet. To get a layered effect, alternate high and low objects. We have also done this in our advice. If you look at the image and also the 'before' photo, you will see what we mean. If you place a candlestick with an LED candle in the cabinet, or a tall narrow vase, you will immediately get an exciting effect. Experiment with this.

2. Place the Books Differently

If you put the books in a crisscross pattern, you get a messy cabinet. This can be nice for a casual effect, but the customer's request was to get a calm whole. Then make a stack of books and put them with the cover to the back. Alternate like this.

3. Place Baskets in an Open Shelf

If you put baskets in an open cupboard, you immediately get a calm effect. Natural material always works well and the small items are stored so nicely.

4. Alternate between Vintage and Contemporary Items

For a contrast, you should definitely put some vintage items in the closet, in any case items with a story. Especially in a sleek closet, that gives a nice effect.

5. Put a Lamp in the Cabinet

To give the cabinet a nice effect in the evening, put a lamp in the cabinet. If you don't have a power outlet nearby, there are plenty of nice LED lamps available.

6. Use Beautiful Photo Frames with Precious Memories or Cards

Beautiful photo frames always look good in a cupboard. This makes your interior personal.

Before and After: Noii Shopping Advice

We gave the customer 2 options with different items. And with option 2 we couldn't resist showing what it adds if you place a bench or chair next to a cabinet. This makes the cabinet less floating on a long wall and gives it more body. By adding cushions, you can create a nice reading corner.

Would you also like such personal advice? Send us an email with a clear photo of your cabinet, dresser including measurements and preferably a few photos of your interior. We will gladly give you personal advice.
