Mango wood:
For this collection, we use solid mango wood from India. This wood is sustainable as it is a byproduct of the food industry, specifically the cultivation of mango fruit. The trees grow quickly, within 15 years, whereas oaks take 50 to 100 years. Once the fruit yield decreases, farmers replace the trees with new plantings. This gives the wood a second life as furniture, without the need for additional deforestation. The mango wood has a warm color and natural variations in grain and shade, making each piece of furniture look unique.
Finish:
The wood is carefully sanded and finished with a sealer and wax layer that protects against water stains.
Material:
Mango wood.
Maintenance:
- Wipe regularly with a slightly damp or dry cloth without coarse stitching to prevent scratches.
- Avoid cleaning tools with a rough surface.
- Do not use polishes or cleaners containing silicone, as they can dry out the wood.
- Avoid cleaning products containing ammonia.
- Rub wax into the wood for a natural shine and a protective layer.
- If desired, apply mineral oil with a cloth for extra nourishment and protection.
