- Material: The Nirama hand-woven rug is made of seagrass , a natural plant fiber. Often called "seagrass," it's actually a small, palm-like plant that grows on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves are harvested, cut into strips, dried, and then processed by hand. This process is done without further treatment, so the material retains its pure, natural appearance. The result is a rug that is not only sustainable but also has a subtle scent and texture reminiscent of nature.
